It’s true. There is a bridge in Ohio on Rte 33 that has been named after our own LT Lloyd Thomas. The bridge crosses the Hocking river about 6 miles north of Athens, OH heading toward Columbus.

The credit for this information goes to Scott and Nadine Sheffer’s nephew, Aaron Romano, who spotted the sign while driving home from a trip to Hocking Hills State Park. Thanks to his sharp mind, he recognized the name and sent Scott the information. As Aaron noted, the sign with LT Thomas’ name on it does not show up in the Google Street View, so Google must have taken their pictures prior to the passing of the legislation in June of 2011: (click or tap the image to download the PDF file) .
